Boti Weaves

Ikat, a tradtional textile, are an important part of many village's income. Here a Boti woman weaves hand-drawn, hand-dyed cotton on a hand made loom. Behind her left should a woman draws just de-seeded cotton into yarns. It's the children's job to remove the seeds.

after nearly one week spent in Menyali a little village of northern Bali, this is the big day: the yearly procession where all the temple shrines, both public & domestic are carried to the sea, 10 km away for a purification bath followed by prayer and dinner on the beach with the hundreds of inhabitant of any age.
